For us at the Financial Wellness Lab, 2023 was a year of accomplishments:
New academic collaborators and and staff joined our team.
We hosted two successful research summits.
Our industry connections continue to expand, with Environics Analytics and Statistics Canada joining us as new partners.
We proudly published the following papers:
The Impact of Saving on Financial Resilience: Keeping It Simple
The Complexity of Financial Wellness: Examining Survey Patterns via Kernel Metric Learning for Clustering Mixed-Type Data
And, the Lab's favourite: we got together for the annual golf tournament, an opportunity to share ideas and get to know each other.
2023 was marked by headlines indicating that Canadians were in the midst of a financial storm. High interest rates, along with rising costs of living, have placed an enormous burden on working Canadians. At the Lab, we remain dedicated to examining the financial pressures exerted on Canadian households and finding ways to help relieve the burden.
On behalf of the Financial Wellness Lab, we wish you happy holidays and all the best for 2024!
