Jesse Ghashti
Jesse is a PhD student in Mathematics at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan, with an anticipated completion date in 2028. He earned his Master’s in Mathematics in 2024 from the same institution, after completing a B.Sc in Mathematics. Jesse remains involved in the Student Learning Hub and the President’s Advisory Committee on Student Discipline, and now also serves on the Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee and the 2024 President's Advisory Committee for the Appointment of the Dean of the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Science. His current research focuses on designing constrained clustering algorithms in machine learning, aimed at achieving proportional or individual fairness and equitability for marginalized groups for decision-making processes.
